Scented Conversations - A Soulful Evening of Tea, Nature, and Connection
On October 1, 2023, Soul Remedies had the opportunity to participate in a wonderful event organized by the "Karnplik" Project and the "The Mirror Foundation."
The event involved taking individuals with disabilities on an afternoon picnic to the Benjakitti Park. It aimed to allow volunteers to experience the daily lives and journeys of people with disabilities.
Soul Remedies chose to brew its soothing "Serenity" herbal tea in a cold brew format to share with both the disabled individuals and the volunteers at the event. This tea is caffeine-free, perfect for sipping in the afternoon and evening, enhancing its freshness with the gentle aroma of blooming flowers in the tea blend. The refreshing iced Serenity tea contributed to a relaxed atmosphere, allowing everyone to engage in conversations freely. This mirrored the goal of the event: to promote mutual learning and understanding between people with and without disabilities.
The first time some participants smelled the tea, they expressed that they could detect the delightful scent of flowers, carried by the gentle breeze. Some took a whiff of the aroma and shared how it made them feel. As everyone sipped from their cups, some laughed together, while others admired the subtle brown color of the tea, believing it added vibrancy to the drinking experience. A few even added the tea to fruits, creating unique, personalized concoctions that suited their individual tastes.
Observing friends who immersed themselves in the tea's aroma, laid back on the grass, and made everyone feel fulfilled by being part of a small yet significant activity, helped facilitate more in-depth conversations and stronger connections among the participants.
The mingling of the scents of nature, freshly fallen rain, warm evening air, and the opportunity to design our own activities allowed us to learn about the challenges of daily life for people with disabilities, engage in personal exchanges, sing, dance, and sip tea with the enchanting fragrance of distant roses. We created a splendid evening, preserving memories through the scent of tea, ready to revisit them at any time.
Through this event, Soul Remedies expressed gratitude to the "Karnplik" Project and the "The Mirror Foundation" for enabling individuals with and without disabilities to come together, explore, learn about each other, and ultimately transform disabilities into abilities.
